Update (4/12/16):

Our next target in „Sweet Medicine” project: the toilet.

Now we’re looking for sponsors who can help us to make the “very bad smelling oddor” to disapear. If you know someone who can help us or would like to get involved in our project, please, let us know.

UPDATE (1/21/16):

“Sweet Medicine” project should make everyone alarmed with the current non-sanitary conditions of the hospitals in Moldova. On this picture you see a mom and a baby of a few months who are hospitalized at the Nisporeni hospital. They’re missing basic necessities: a crib, a bed for mom, who had to bring her own bed sheets. You’ll notice there is water on the batter (by the window) being warmed up, as the hospital only has cold water.

Gift of a Lifetime

We have started a new fundraising campaign to help 2 families with little kids, who desperately need a house. These families have suffered tremendously from the physical and emotional abuse while institutionalized in an orphanage. Love is Kind is trying to offer them a second chance to a better life!
We strongly believe that every child in need deserves to be happy, whether they are sick and need treatment or coming from an at-risk or abusive family. That is why our mission is to find these children and offer them a chance to happiness and a better future. Our goal is to offer them and their families long-lasting solutions that will improve their lives for the better.

Please consider buying a shirt on Booster (or donating at GoFundME), to support these 2 causes!!!

Their stories:
1.   Grandma raising her two grandkids, Kate and Victor, age 12 and 13 all on her own. The kids found themselves in an orphanage soon after their mother’s death. Their grandmother fought hard to bring them home to live with her but it wasn’t as easy or as fast as she wanted it to be. Even today, after half a year out of the system, the brother and the sister remember with horror the time they spent at the orphanage. They could not wait for their grandma’s visits where they could enjoy some homemade food. “The nights were the toughest. The hunger would not let me fall asleep as there was never enough food for all of us” remembered sadly Victor. Kate refused to share her experience with us at the moment and we respect her decision…

In order for them to be able to live with their grandma, the local officials offered them temporary housing. Every morning, Kate and Victor take the bus for a few miles and then walk another half a mile on foot in order to get to school. Life is not easy for them and their grandmother as they are still struggling with poverty on a daily basis but they are happy that at least now they are all together.

2.  Single mother, Diana, raising 2 children under age of 2- a 2 year old girl named Anne and a baby boy named Dan. CCF has found Diana on a cold, rainy day wondering on the roads, with her baby girl in her arms looking desperately for a good soul to open their doors and offer them temporary shelter…even if that was just for a single night. With her daughter suffering from bronchitis the social workers took her immediately to a hospital and they were later offered temporary housing. That’s where baby Dan was born.

6250878_1444145581.6441
Diana had an unfortunate life from the day she was born. Her parents abandoned her at birth and she had suffered physical and emotional abuse throughout the entire time she was institutionalized in the orphanage. Adapting to real life was difficult for her, with lots of struggles and unknowns, but the appearance of her children in her life had a huge impact on her. It made her stronger and she knew that she wants more for them then she had for herself.

Both families are currently looking for a permanent home that they could make it their own in one of the small cities in the Northern part of Moldova. The families need our help to raise $4,500 ($2,500 for the first case and $2,000 for the second)! This will not only insure a house and stability for these families but will also give them a chance to stay together and not have the children be separated and sent to orphanages or foster homes.

For a single person or a family, $2,000- 2,500 is not small change, even here in US. With that money you can manage to pay one month rent or put food on the table for your family. You can’t, however, buy a house with that amount in US! Help these families stay together and offer them the gift of a lifetime. There is no place like home! Please consider making a small donation and spread the word and the kindness!

Thank you!

Inspiring Teen Parents/ Copii care nasc copii

Inspiring Teen Parents-  http://www.gofundme.com/omlxts

Eugenia and Victor are two young and courageous fighters. Eugenia-17 and Victor -18 are proud parents of a beautiful, blue-eyed, 8 month old baby girl. Also, they’ve recently found out that they are expecting another child that will soon join their little family. Abandoned by their own parents as kids, Eugenia and Victor were raised in orphanages, with no parental care or love and without a guaranteed future or safety net. Now, though struggling with poverty and lack of support, they promised to themselves they would do anything for the well being of their kids, fight for a better life and most importantly surround them with unconditional love- one of the things they missed most as children.

The family lives in an old, abandoned house in one of the suburbs of Kishinau, the capital of Moldova. The house used to belong to Eugenia’s mom who due to her alcohol addiction left it unattended and became, with time, shelter to homeless people. Eugenia “inherited” the house and from lack of better alternatives, the young family decided to move into the house and make it their own. They succeeded to clean it up from the disastrous state it used to be but still much more needs to be done…Victor is the only one working in the family receiving $100-200 monthly paycheck that is barely enough to cover food and baby essentials. However, their dream and hope is that one day they will be able to gather enough money to repair the house and provide their children a loving family and home.

Child Protective Services has warned the couple that if they do not improve their child’s living conditions they risk taking their baby girl away from them.  The news were devastating enough but when they found out about the second baby, the parents lost their sleep worried of how they will be able to provide for their family with no education and/or a more stable job and no financial support from relatives or state.

Please help us make their dream come true so that they can keep their babies close to them…always.

For long term stability, the young family would need $6000 to restore their home and buy some basic home goods:

House Repairs
1. Insulated windows -5
2. Doors- 4
3. Construction materials (paint, wood, etc.)
4. Builders’ fee
5. Connecting the house to gas and water

Household goods
1. Washer & drier
2, Fridge
3. New beds
4. Dining table and chairs
5. Living room furniture
